Plum,
The T/A hood is not lift off. It bolts to the factory hinges. You do need to find a set of the weaker hood springs though(or no springs)

:) I will have to ask PistolGripper all about it, he said it was a lift off hood, thanks for the info, that will be very helpful if it is a hinged hood. 1BH, that looks bad for sure! I am just trying to work something out that isn't going to cost too much, I have already shot my wad on the Chally for a while, with the engine and front end build, I am scraping the bottom of the parts barrel! That Chally is looking awesome, do you have a goal in mind for the paint and start up?

PS, happy B Day  1BH

I have a picture of a T/A hood on mine but it's a 71 Chally. I have two hoods, one's a original and the other is a repop. I would love to put the original on but it's has the famous "bow" to it and needs some other work. The picture is with the original hood, I just went out and bought a repop, big differance. You can't really tell a differance in the hoods until you open the hood. My hoods are also bolt on, they are not lift off hoods. I bought the repop because I didn't want to put money into the original to fix it.

It's probably not sitting right. I had just bolted it up to get the car home. It does have the typical "bow" to it that throws it off to. I was going to have a fiberglass shop redo it but my Chally's not a T/A but I do like the looks of the hood but coundn't justify putting that much into it when I could buy a repop. If it where a T/A, I would have spent the money for the origanality factor.

:) Thanks for posting those, that really looks good! I see what they are talking about the T/A hood bow, I guess after 30+ years the glass just sags a bit. Post some pics of your repo if you don't mind. thanks!!

Plum, thanks for the the happy birthday. As for the paint It will be in the spring and then I have to build a new shop before I build the motor. I would hope in two years to have it done.

where and how much for your repop?

planning on building a T/A clone, at least in exterior looks.
