Alright I am pissed now.

A few days back I had sent a message to the douchebag and asked for $3 back instead of $2.

Well, he finally replied today:

Quote
"Im sorry your nameplate got damaged but it's not my fault, i've sent 10 or more of these out in a nice bubble wrap envalope like your and never had any problems. the fact of the matter is the pins got bent but you cant even use them anyway other than a guide , youll still need to use some sort of a glue or 2 sided tape, so the pins are really useless because you cant pot the clips on the back of them.
maybee you should make a complant to your post office i packaged it more than properly,
and yes it is just a dollar but it was a 7.00 iten i was going to give you 2.00 no big deal but then you have to try to squeeze me for a buck more , really , who is being dramatic here. do you think you can widdle a piece of plastic to look rite for 7.00 , maybe after a few hours of work but then your saying your time is worth litterly nothing .

you can keep it or send it back for a refund the option is yours, you will get refunded the full purchase price and the original shipping cost not the shipping to return it , you did not purchase insurance for shipping so the damage lies in the post office.

good day.

"squeeze" him?  I simply said I felt $3 refund was fair.  He throws a shoe over it and then renigs altogether.

I sent back this message:

Quote
You did not package the item properly. It should have been first inserted into a cardboard sleeve to protect the pins or it should have been shipped in a small box.

Second, I did not insist on another $1, I simply said that I felt that would be more fair. Rather than politely say no, you get rude.

Before I bid on it you assured me the pins were fine. When the item arrived , the pins were all broken. Was it really caused in transit or was it damaged before shipping? I do not know for sure now but suspect it may have been broken PRIOR to shipping, judging by your replies.

Insurance for shipping was NEVER offered by you.

I will still accept the $2 refund and this all goes away. Or, I expect a full refund for the purchase, the original shipping as well as the return shipping since the damage was either your fault due to sloppy packaging or it was broken to begin with, which I will pursue thru ebay and paypal on Monday evening unless I get the refund. Your call.
Thanks

What a dick head.

I hope that "c owens" isnt a member here.

Aren't all packages automatically insured up to $100 before you pay extra for more coverage?  Either way, there's no point in getting this worked up over it.  If you can make it work, go for it, or if not, then get your money back.  You will never get refunded the return shipping, though.  No one offers that, not even amazon or the other big online merchants.

Hope I'm not hijacking here,  I went through about the same deal when I bought a cam for my 200x three wheeler. Turns out the pin for the rotor was drilled in the wrong spot causing the ignition timing/ rotor to be off by just that much. After a few similar e-mails, I finally said F it and just ate the 15.00 and wound up using the old cam.
It certainly sucks, but at least I learned to not use that seller anymore. And plus, you can at least use your item, mine is just a paperweight.

He shipped via USPS first class mail, no insurance.,  I never was offered any insurance.

As far as the return shipping thing though...Thats not true.  It depends on the situation, the vendor and the method of payment.

When an item is defective or not as advertised, there are provisions for getting return shipping back.  Otherwise someone could sell you a wheel for $75, charge you $50 to ship, then send you a box of rocks......if it costs you $50 to send back the rocks out of your pocket to get back would you pay to send it back?

This case, it is both defective and not as advertised.   I dont know for sure it wasnt broken before it was packaged incorrectly.  Either way, it will cost me $4.00 to send it back to get back my $11.  So I will still be out $4 and have nothing to show for it.

At least I have the plate to show for it I guess.

The guy is just a tool.....yeah, its not huge money we are talking here, but there's a principle involved.   He is being a jagoff cuz he thinks he has me by the balls.

I guess the best I can do is leave bad feedback.  But I am persuing thru paypal to at least get on record that the guy is being a douche and what happened.

SO, I filed a case with ebay this morning.....stated that all I wanted was the original $2 refund offer that he re-negged on or otherwise a full refund plus return shipping.  Within a couple hours I had a response back that the seller was offering me the $2 refund.

LOL

So all that for the same outcome.

Whaddajerk.

So, the decision is whether I should leave negative or neutral feedback.  :naughty:
