Exhaust manifold ?

my 440 has a leak in the exhaust manifold gasket (standard felpro gaskets) at cylinder 8 towards the stud. They are stock manifolds. Is it a good idea to try thicker gaskets? A friend recommended a really thick one made by Mr. Gasket.

The manifold is probably warped, so the best choice is to remove it, check flatness with a straight edge and if warped have it resurfaced or milled flat.

Exactly , I use a thin layer of high heat silicone only when using manifolds , using a gasket just causes leaks
