71 Challenger / 73 Cuda
« on: May 09, 2010 - 07:36:19 PM »
I have a Challenger with the following fender tag:

L25 L31 M21 R11 V78 20
GW3 U A01 G11 G33 H51
GW3 H4X9 000 223 041677
E44 D31 JH213G1B304710

Cuda

N85 R11 V6X EN2
M21 M25 M31 M88 N41 N42
FE5 U B41 C56 G36 J54
E55 D13 BS23H3B196068

The Challenger had a full interior but no broadcast sheet under the rear seat.  I didn't find it in the glove box, headliner, under the carpet, or anywhere else (the car is a shell now).

The Cuda has zero interior in it.  I haven't torn out the dash yet, but I'd imagine the broadcast sheet is gone with wherever the interior went.

I don't know anything about how to decipher the fender tag.  Can someone provide me with a resource or some information?  I'm 99% sure I have the correct number above although the fender tags are pretty rusty so I may have goofed a letter or number.

Both tags are missing a line.  ;)

Online decoders are full of errors too, for whatever that may be worth.

Alaskan,

You are correct.  I went semi-blind while trying to read the tags backwards (the front is pretty rusted):

EH2
L25 L31 M21 R11 V78 20
GW3 U A01 G11 G33 H51
GW3 H4X9 000 223 041677
E44 D31 JH213G1B304710

Cuda

N85 R11 V6X EN2
M21 M25 M31 M88 N41 N42
FE5 U B41 C56 G36 J54
FE5 A6X9 000 A19 112114
E55 D13 BS23H3B196068

That should be better.  Where are you guys decoding this at?  I'd love to tag a stab at it myself.

Thanks again,

Jon

EN2
L25 L31 M21 R11 V78 26
GW3 U A01 G11 G33 H51
GW3 H4X9 000 223 041677
E44 D31 JH23G1B304710

I fixed three typos where you must have had a gard time reading it. (EN2, 26 & the extra 1 in the VIN.)

Photos are good for this type of thing, it lets us see what you see. Photos of the backs of the tags can be flipped so they read right too.

This is for you guys that want to take a shot at reading these tags.  I took hi-res front and back pics.  If you need a closeup of something specific let me know and I can retake it.  The filenames are named according to what I took a picture of (Cuda Front, Cuda Back, etc etc)

Anyone that has ideas on how I would find the broadcast sheets for these cars would be appreciated.  Unfortunately, they definitely aren't in the cars.

Thanks,

Jon

I don't know about "easy reading" but yeah :)

The front of both tags are pretty bad.  The backs are mostly readable.
