found motor on craigslist, sound ok?

not sure if link will work, if not heres the description.

I have a 1968 440 shortblock for sale. I got it to build for my Valiant drag car, but no longer have the time to do it. The block will need to be bored, as two of the pistons have had the rings grab onto the cylinder walls. The crank is in good shape and will only need to be polished. No bluing or signs of oil starvation on the rods or crank. This engine has never been apart before. I just ran out of time to keep messing with this thing. I am a little negotiable on the price.

what say you guys? unfortunatley no pictures, and the Live mail thing craigslist uses doesnt work most of the time so i gotta call him later. would one of the 512 or 543 stroker kits from 440 source work on this block?

do not pay a lot for the 440 if you buy it , the 2 bores may need to be sleeved  or at least you will need a new set of pistons  & Yes a you can build a 512 " stroker from it , I would not go as big as 543 for a street engine though

I paid $400 for my 440 and it was running when I bought it (still going to be built to my specs though). If you really want it, I'd only offer him like $200. You know it's going to need work and it's never a good idea to throw too much money out there on the off chance that you might not be able to repair it.
Cuda is gone :(
