New Challenger with T/A hood looks cool!
« on: May 17, 2010 - 04:07:39 PM »
I am in Albuquerque celebrating my nieces graduation from high school. I looked at some new Challengers while I was at Grandmas Music. That new package with the T/A hood looks pretty nice. I don't know if its $2500 worth of nice but it looks tight. I took a few pics of it and will download them when I get back home tonight.

I saw a silver with black stripes one on the road yesterday, that was the first one I've seen in person.  A lot of people are buying the TA hood to add to their cars, but I don't think that option package with the hood, spoiler and stripes is selling very well.

I dont like the stripe but I dig the scoop. It is a lot of scoop for that small hood though. Camera pics.

in the pic it looks like it was just stuck on the hood i think it would look better if it was part of the hood,or molded to the hood so you wouldnt see the lip all around the scope, and i bet the paint has alot to do with it, it might look good on the right color car

I agree.  Must be a steel hood with a plastic scoop.  Looks a little cheap the way it's attached.  Looks like Hurst is involved in this as a package, or is it separate?

I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the road someone offers an aftermarket all glass T/A hood painted flat black.

I have seen this style of hood used for the 'Shaker' conversions, so maybe peopel are buying this T/A style hood so they can remove the scoop and use the hood/hole for the shaker conversion?

I know it looks "stuck on in the pics but in person it is flush. I agree with 72RT, I think they will use the same hood for a factory shaker in a year or so.

It's not in the correct proportion :clueless:

If anything I think its the other way around. My first impression was that the scoop is too big for the hood.
