Does anyone know if strut rods from a 68 69 b body are the same ones used on a 74 cuda?

I just meassured the rods and they are 22 1/4 inches long for my 74 cuda.I still wondering about the other years from a cuda, challenger or b body. Also has anyone found an easy way to remove the old spring clips? Thanks Chris

68-72 b bodies are the same, but they all are different size diameters depending on if you had a /6,318, or a big block. Use needle nose pliers and squeeze the clip pins together, they come right out.

The ones I was going to use were the original ones from the 74 cuda which has a 318 but I am installing a 440 with a hemi 4 speed. But one of them is mushroomed on the top and I would have to cut some of the threads to straighten it out.I think I would still have enough thread though.Would it make a difference using the ones from the 318 rather than a set from a big block? And as for those clips no luck they were rusted in there one of them I was able to get out , the other one is stuck in there. Thanks Chris

Hey Reb, I was wrong last night. I was refering to tq bars. The struts off of e&b from 71 72 b and 70 -74 e are the same size. Sorry. I was having a bad time last night when I posted. WD40 the rusted clips and use a punch to drive them out. They will come. Take a grinder and round off the mushroom on the end of the threads to a taper, then install the nut.
