Kinda looked like this, ex-department of defense car. Has disc brakes too. Is it worth grabbing the intake? I was worried if it had extra ports or something funky..

If its a 4bbl then the heads are 360 heads and its a 360 intake (ports).  If its a 2bbl, and after 84, then it should have the 302 heads.

Also good to grab the tranny cooler, oil cooler setup, power steering cooler.  I'd grab the intake/carb if a 4bbl.  85+ got the Quadrajet.  Thermoquad on 84 and earlier.  4bbl kickdown, too.  Lots of M-body nuts go nuts for cop car parts...  Lots of useful stuff for the FJM crowd...

Might have the good A999 tranny with the 2.74 low gear set.  :thinkerg:

Actually, by the early 80s they all had that.  But they are a lock-up trans.  Check to see if its a 727.  That was a cop only option...  I'm not sure if the 727s of that era got the 2.74 gear set.

btw: FJM guys go nuts for the 2.91SG rears.  You can unload the entire rear, drum to drum + driveshaft for about $150-$200.

Yeah, I've parted one out, bought parts off of others...

What you want from the trans (if it's the 999) is the low gear set and internals that have increased clutch capacity. The lock up function is in the TC. The very same low gear set is $220 at Mancini.
