Through Suffering w/AT&T
« on: May 29, 2010 - 12:40:59 AM »
Finally had enough of AT&Ts crappy DSL service especially their lack of support (moved to India)  :swear: ...was fine, so I thought, when working but this cable modem(Knology) has double the download, 18Mbps, & 10X the upload speed, 6Mbps, +++bundled costs should be about 1/2 for 2-years vs what I was paying.....Neighbors say it's virtually trouble free .
Why did I wait so long   :banghead:

I HATE ATT......... but still their customer (at the shop anyway).  There service is terrible. I just went through a situation at the shop with their DSL. Kept cutting out. Talked with acme, rahied, alibabba, hakim and who the he11 else. Finally we get a tech out after two weeks, and the pboblem was solved in 5 mins. And it was the problem I suspected all along. MODEM was $#it! And the tech told me so. (this is a very condensed version of the story. They were one step away from my next level..... this is how I USUALLY get things straigtend out w ATT .  FCC.GOV! And file a complaint, then they kizz yr azz for a day or two. You generally need to repeat this process on the next issue! I recommend using it often!

BTW . I have only 2 choices for high speed at the shop them or RR. Got RR at home but its just too $$$ at the shop.

Sorry Wade didnt mean to hijack yr thread...  :faint:

FIOS here, also, but if you are a gamer  (XBOX 360, etc), their wireless routers suck, but with a little research and port forwarding, etc, can be made to work.  Can't beat the speed for the price.  We get 20M down/5M up for roughly $40/month.

I have Verizon FIOS.

Totally awesome in performance....Once the bugs were worked out.    :pullinghair:

Seriously, a year and a half of service here and I never lost service even thru the tons of snow this past winter. I just had a few problems at installation that caused multiple hours of being on the phone while someone talked to someone who talked to someone.     I quit counting after 12 hours of having my phone to my ear, but it all got fixed... finally.   :faint:
