don`t know about the pressing....you can`t see what you do and you need to feel what you do. I did mine using and ballhammer on the rivet and hitting that hammer with another big hammer . ( I`m a blacksmith, so that might make it a tad easier... ) anyway, Here`s how I did it; Make sure you have an extra pair of hands to keep the hinge/ rivet flat on an anvil. place the ball hammer on the centre of the rivet and strike it once with good force. Try hitting straight down, so the rivet will spread evenly to all sides. If it`s not locked up, hit it again. From there you start rivetting the edges crosswise till it`s locked up nicely. Keep using 2 hammers, and carefully choose position of the ballside. ( remember, it`s not your mom you`re hitting....)
You really shouldn`t drill the holes but use a precision cutter tool thingy (don`t know the english name...sorry) holes will always turn out to be too big if you drill. I had the holes 0.0078 larger then the rivets and I would even make that less if I had to do it again. The length of the rivet is very important as well. I would recomment only 0.0039 longer than the size of the bar it goes through. If you have them longer, it will result in a lot of sideways motion in your hinge. Remember, since the part of the rivet that sits in the hole is much thicker than the part you actually rivet, it will not / hardly expand...
( unless maybe it you use a press and keep pushing... ) good luck
