440 flat slugs and rods in 400

anybody out there know if a set of standard flat top pistons out of a 440hp will fit in a 400? any help would be appreciated.  mike in tn ???

No they won`t fit they 440 is 4.32 bore & the 400 is 4.35 bore so they are .030  to small , the other problem is the height ,the 440 is approx 1/2" taller deck than the 400 so the piston will stop about 1/2 into the head unless you use a much shorter rod

thanks for the reply. been into hotrods since kid but can now really afford to do more than 4 barrel and headers. :P
