SE vinyl top, Pad or No pad?
« on: June 05, 2010 - 10:38:14 AM »
Ok, before somebody beats me up I have searched the archives for every post on vinyl tops and I'm still stumped. :clueless:  Does the SE vinyl top have a backing (padding) or no backing or just padding around the window plug?
I've seen posts saying each of the above could be the case.  Nest week the vinyl top guy is going to put my top on and I don't want to find out after the fact it's wrong.

My '71 Formal Roof car had padding only around the plug. I never found a good replacement. But I used something similar from a fabric store.

Chryco, are you happy with the way that came out?  That may be the way I go.

Yes , we used some thin 1/8 thick soft foam under the vinyl & it hides the plug under the vinyl
