I have a 73 with a new hood ( no holes yet ) and I want to mount a set of NOS 340 four barrel emblems in the original locations on the side of the scoops. I have the dimensions for the hole locations, but I don't know what size the stock holes are . Also, the new emblems have a plastic sleeve on the mounting pins. Are these what hold them on, or is there speednuts on them ? Thanks, Mike    Hi Chryco, the car is getting better all the time.

Plastic sleeves are not originally what were used..Barrel Nuts were they push in the hole then the emblem pin spreads them out creating  friction to hold. I found some at my local Ace Hardware

Match a drill bit with the emblem pin

Thanks for the info. I'll get some barrel nuts. I guess the hole has to be bigger to accommodate them !
