Best way to pull my springs off my hood hinges

I wanna leave the hinges installed on the car and just take off the springs only.  What's the easiest way?

Long, large screwdriver.

Slip the pointy end through the front hook.

Angle it so the hook end slides up to the handle end, keep all body parts clear.

Pull straight forward with both hands, one on the handle & one on the shaft.

When the front hook clears the hinge, shift to the side just a little & let the spring compress.

the easiest way without hurting yourself or messing up paint is to use mixing paint sticks, wedge a paint stick between every coil, slide the sping off, install same way
