Vin Question

I just picked up a 1970 cuda from a guy out in northern IL.

Bought the car and came with ALOT of parts.
I have the title but we are finding out more and more information leaning to the car being a AAR car. The vin doesnt sho for it but the parts are matching up and this cuda looks different then most i have seen.

Was there any special types of cudas (ie. blackbirds,warhawks, etc..... for firebird)

What are the numbers on;

The radiator support

The cowl top

The mylar door sticker

The fender tag

The dash VIN

The title

The engine

The transmission

see thats the thing, with this car i got the orginal numbers match trans, motor and rearend and most of the orignal bolts ons too.

But i also got a crap load of parts.
The wierd thing is there are parts in here that dont look right and seem to be different then the rest.

example: i got 3 70 3-speed transmission with this car, including one that was in the car. The problem is one of the 3 speeds is less teeth and it seems like its from a AAR car, i have the same situation with the rearends. I have 3 of them and 1 matches the AAR setup. I really want to know if there is any other way to find out if this these parts are AAR parts of if the whole car is itself.

I dont even know if a 3 spd came on an AAR. And you didn't bother to mention specific to AAR only objects that came on them all to give us a clue. You didn't even say the vin either.  You smokin us or what.

How about the VINs on the extra transmissions also?

As I asked you in PM's. What is the vin?
What is the stamp on the radiator and cowl?
That will make all the difference.

As far as I know, there is no way to tell if a rearend was in an aar.
A transmission and an engine have vin stamps which might be in the right numbers to be an aar.  BUT, you would have to tell someone what the vin is.

What exactly makes you think they are from an AAR-details?What do you see that makes them different?And post the numbers!  :2thumbs:

BTW, we only need the first 7 digits of the VIN to find out what you've got. We're not trying to steal the car or any pertinent info from it, but we need this to supply any info.

ok ok here is the vin for the car.

BS23HOB is the first seven digits

The trans im talking about tag is.......

C99129 it has 18 spline teeth

the other ones for C99129 H they had 24 Spline Teeth.

I was told the trans was a AAR trans or was rumored to be but i dont know for sure.

I know now the car isnt a AAR car but just seems like something different about. Unforently i have way too many parts at this point to go through. I'll be post a exact list and how much all is going for when i finish my research on sunday. This is all i have right now.

The VIN is for a 1970 Cuda 340.

AARs did not get 18 spline gearboxes.

The C numbers are casting numbers, they will not tell you what car the transmissions came out of. Look for a raised pad about 3" long on the passenger side of the cases & post the numbers on them if you find any. I may be able to tell you what cars they came from, or at least narrow it down for you some.

I also know of a lot of 340 engines & some transmissions for 1970 models, register if you like & if I have heard of anything for the car I will let you know. Registration info at the link below.
