Samllblock aftermarket Connecting Rods

Has anyone ever used aftermarket con. rods in small block mopar such as: this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ESP-6123C3D/ or this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ESP-6123CB/ ?
These rods look good because look like they will help reduce a lot of heat caused by the friction between to Rod in same Crank Journal.

Are they any good?

Are they just bolt on or required just a little work? cause I prefer do-it-mysef than go to machine shop.(Dont worry about crankshaft balancing, I will try to balance the whole assembly by calculate the weight of new Piston&Rods as close as the stock one)

These rods need to be balanced. They are also full floating rods which means they will need to be clearanced for the wrist pins,and I don't really see much improvement in friction against the crank. There isn't a lot of friction there anyway because of the filet on the edges of the journals. IMHO anyway. :bigsmile:

The Rods Side Clearance in my 340 is more than 0.020, I believe it will cause the low oil pressure. By the way I disassemble the engine, I would like to take this chance to replace the Rods. I may be wrong but what do you think I should consider? Replace the new Rods or change the new Crank(used)? Which one Rods or Crank should wore out(on side) first?

Without looking at the crank I would think that is the culprit. usually the crank is ground improperly . I have reconditioned thousands of con rods and it is rare to see the sides of a rod worn.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I am using those Eagle SIR rods in my 360.  The balance was very close, and only needed slight tweeking to be equal.  Not saying don't balance, just mine were not off too much.

You cannot replace stock rods with those and have them match. Because they are a lot heavier and you'll have to weaken them to grind them that far. Rod side clearance does not help oil pressure. It might help ring seal a little but IMO that is debatable too. I'd use your old rods and have them re-done with good blots, or just re-use them if they measure ok. The SIR rods are much lighter whcih again will cause an out of balance condition. Stock replacement pistons do not need to have things balanced, but a rod change from stock to aftermarket changes both the reciprocating weight AND the rotating weight. New rods means it really should be balanced.
