Help! Installation of trunk lid torsion rods
« on: July 15, 2010 - 10:55:46 PM »
Oh my   :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead: How freaking hard can it be to install these things. I know exactly where they go, but i can't get them into the slot or the slide over the hinge arm.  Is there a secret to these things, or am i just stupid! Right now i could just step away from this and never look back. Any ideas?

I used a beefy pointed end pry bar. Was easy. Slipped right in to the notch. Looks kinda like this.

I used a big screw driver. You have to pull back towards the rear bumper.

I used speaker wire so I didn't scratch anything.

That end hasn't been a problem, it is the other end where the sliders go along the hinge , and getting the rod up into its notch,

The rod has to go into the notch first, and then into the tensioner slots that MEK posted the pic of.
