The early 340 had different piston/pin weight than the later low compression 340, and even the "correct" year aftermarket piston may not have the OEM weight, not even close. Be sure to match your weights correctly or the engine will have resonance vibration. I would weigh the parts your taking out (piston and pin together) and match those weights, don't rely on a number in a book.
