It was at Mecum in Indy action in May.  It did not sell, and there is no high bid listed.

The hood is wrong. It should not have the D O D G E on it.

I believe the hood "D""O""D""G""E" on the hood is correct for what appears to be the Rallye or "Power Bulge" type hood.  :burnout:

I believe 71 models did not have the letters on the hood because DODGE is in the grill. All repo hoods come with the holes for the letters.

NOT TRUE at all....I've used two AMD Challenger hoods, one rallye, one shaker and both had the raised area for the Dodge fratzog emblem. :2cents:

Answer was in reply to comment about ralley type hood. All I have seen repo had holes for the letters. I have never seen a ralley hood with the Dodge emblem and I know a shaker was derived from a flat hood that usually had the Dodge emblem. Any pics?

Yep...I was wrong...Only the shaker hood has the raised area for the Fratzog....not the rallye hood...sorry about that.

The D O D G E lettering was not used on 71 Rallye hood unlike 70, 72-74.
The 71 grille says Dodge instead of Challenger, like the other years.

It makes finding an original hood for a 71 real tough, hence me putting a shaker on mine.
A previous owner of my car had drilled the original rallye hood for hood pins, but in the wrong location.  :pullinghair:
