Advice Needed: "Clogged Up A/C Ducts??"

My ac box was half filled with crap. Looked like a mouse or two had made a nice home in the thing. Taking the blower motor off you still couldn't see it. You will never be able to blow all the crap out either if it is all filled up. Sorry you have it charged up already. I pulled mine and rebuilt it with a new heater core and pressure tested the ac core. How old is that heater core of yours? Might be something to think about. 

I can't be sure but I'd be surprised if its not the original heater core since almost everything else on it was original when I got it.  And yeah, I kind of depended on the A/C shop to fix what needed to be fixed in the right order but they converted it to R134 before noticing the issue with low air volume coming out of the vent registers.  The problem you had with nexts etc. sounds too much like mine unfortunately.  Thanks for the info, lets me know that it could be what the shop says it is, duct work full of crap....

I use my A/C all the time and the air volume is a little low, compared to all of my new cars.  I was going to use a relay to drive my blower directly off of the battery when I have it on high.  You can try the same thing by using a big supply wire and hooking it directly between the battery and the blowers supply wire. You can get to it on the engine side.  Compare the air volume to when you have it going through the switch. You'll see that you are losing current through the inside wiring.

I have 3 A/C e-bodies. There really aren't any filters in there to block anything. If all your vent deflectors are deflecting when you hit MAX A/C on your panel, and you don't have any mouse hotels in there, or leaves in the motor's fan blades, the system is usually cold enough to chill you out. Is yours not cold enough?

The air is cool/cold but the volume of air is so low that when the cars been sitting outside it would take almost forever to cool off at the rate the air is coming out.  I haven't tried it but I think starting off in the garage it would probably keep it cold but with near triple digit temps in Georgia right now I'm not anxious to find out.  By vent deflectors are you referring to doors that open & close inside the ductwork and if so how can I tell if they're all the way open?  The big thing is that there is not a noticeable difference when the fan is on low, med or high so that above all else makes me think something is wrong.  Plus my wife who grew up in the 70's just like I did agrees that even though these older cars didn't blow as hard as new cars do she could still feel the air from the back seat.  As little air as comes out the Barracuda's vents I seriously doubt anyone in the back seat could feel anything.  Your idea of putting extra current through the fan sounds interesting.  I've even been wondering if anyone has thought of 'souping up' the fan with a more powerful fan motor, etc.

I took mine to a cruise night tonight, on the way home I took the 4 lane hwy home and opened her up to about 100 MPH and then a huge wad of leaves and crap blew all over me! LOL   I'd say mine is NOT plugged anymore!   but I have a big mess to vacuum up! 
 Mind you mine doesn't have A/C but maybe a drive at HWY speeds will  get some air moving through and loosen up something?

That made me laugh!!  It could even work too.  Most of the problems I've had with the Barracuda since picking it up earlier this year can be attributed to it sitting for a long time so who knows, a 70+ mph trip down the highway might be just the thing!!

to check your doors, go between all of the buttons and see if the actuators move the doors. Pay attention between MAX AC and AC and see if a door moves. This is the one that allows air in from the cowl or blocks it off when on MAX. 

Try the battery wire directly to the motor to compare the air flow.

I'll give that a try and see if I can tell if doors or opening / shutting.
