distributor problem
« on: July 10, 2010 - 11:22:00 AM »
I tried to swap out my distributor with an msd and  I ran into some problems. The new one wouldn't line up like the old one, so I put the old one back in and now the car won't start. The car just turns over and won't start

Can you get a spark to ground from the coil wire?    Did you plug in the old distro?

Not real savvy on the electrical side of things. I put everything back the way it was and I'm not sure how to get a spark from the coil

Pull the Big wire that runs from the coil to the center of the distributor cap (pull from the cap, leave in the coil), position it close to ground (make sure there's no fuel leaks).. Have someone crank the car & see if a bright blue spark jumps... If not the problem is the coil or before, if it does the problem is with the distributor.

Move your wires over on terminal. They dont care which tower is #1 as long as the rotor is pointed to #1 on TDC
If I cant fix it, it's broke
