Estimated Time Of Completion?
« on: October 27, 2004 - 02:55:05 AM »

Although many, if not all restos change on a daily/weekly basis, when do you expect your restoration, custom, driver, project to be "finished"? "Finished" as in ready to roll,  not including all the aftermarket parts you may add on in the years ahead. Just getting in before everyone post the age old saying, "a cars is NEVER complete". Mainly the restos and current projects.

I'll start, something like this.....

Estimated time of completion: Late February 2005.

Broken down:
Early November is engine/trans install and under carrage etc. Late November early December will be interior which will probably run into early January (hopefully not) the rest is bascially tunning and making sure EVERYTHING runs smooth and is ready for it's big debut. I hoping earlier as most of you with your cars, but I'd rather have it done properly now and wait rather than keep fixing it on a monthly basis. I've added about a week or two for those unwanted, well, Barstard problems that usually raise there head.

Be good to see when most of our cars will show there "new born" faces to the CCC family, ANNNNND the rest of the world.  8)

Cheers,
Carl  ;)

My goal (read G-O-A-L - baring any unforseen "circumstances") is May 15, 2005. This is, complete enough to be able to SAFELY drive it on the street, and the with the intention of it being completed enough to enter it into an actual show class, versus the Diamonds in the Rough class...  Now, seeing as how I'm a month and a half behind at the body shop, this makes it a little more difficult to reach my goal because I had planned for most of October and November to be able to work on the car.... but, that's life!! ;)

NZ, sounds like you've got a good time frame there...  can't wait to see some new pics of the car as she goes back together!!! ;D ;D

I hope everything is together and pristine by the summer of 2006.  My plan is to get the body, suspension, interior, all the things not related to the engine done by the end of the summer of 2005 and use the remaining time on getting the engine built, mounted, plumbed and wired.

I'm hoping to have mine completed by the summer of 2006.  I am going to try and get things close to being finished next spring/summer, but we all know how that goes. ::)  I still need to finish with the bodywork, build my engine, then start a shopping frenzy for seat covers, some vinyl paint, and all lines and misc. things needed for a car. lol :D

I'll guess January for ours.  We're really close, just waiting for some brackets so we can finish the engine.  Now that we've decided on the vinyl top, we can get that maybe next week, and get that on, the glass in and finish the interior.  We probably could have it done before Christmas...but I'll build in some time to be safe.

Planning to have the mechanical work, interior and surface rust fixes done by next summer, but she won't be
"done" until Goodmark releases replacement quarters (I just emailed them, they said about one year for Cuda
quarters/ fenders, but that could be their standard answer).

But, she'll never be "done."   ;)

WOW!! There are a few that are within grasp. REV, can't wait. That is pretty darn close. Can you sleep at night? LOL!!  ;D

Mike, thanks my photos are on my Sisters digital and I'm waiting to make the film worth while, should get some resto shop photos of the car with it's undies on. Yours is a lot closer than I thought!!  :D I was thinking maybe July/August at the earliest.

Everyone else, summer 2006 isn't far off either, really. Time is humming alone these days.

Awesome response to the thread, good to see where you are at and when we can all look forward to seeing these cars.  :D :o 8)

Let's see...

I'll be able to purchase the body panels for the car in about 2 months, so that'll take a bit to get welded on. After that it'll be a matter of sandblasting parts and getting em prepped.

Finish welding - Feb-Mar 2005
Car painted - June-July 2005 (depending on cash)
Engine work, reassembly - Nov 2005 (again depending on cash)

So basically I'm hoping to be able to drive the car in 2006
