    What's the easiest way to swap out motor mounts with the engine installed.

    Kind of a silly question, but I figure I'd ask anyways.  What is the easiest way to swap out motor mounts on a small block with everything installed.  I currently have a sinus infection, no fun.  I know it's going to be a miserable experience, and I want to do the absolute bare minimum to get these new locking mounts in while being as painless as possible too. Does the whole engine side bracket need to come out?  Not sure how the engine bracket to mount stud nut would come off without.  I do have headers, it looks like that could complicate things.

    You'll need to pull the mount brackets. I did it last summer when I installed my headers. I also have manual steering. It wasn't that bad, the headers weren't in yet but I don't think it would have been that much harder with them there. Good luck and hope you get better soon.

    its not too bad. one side at a time, i did it with my TTI's in. its just a little bit of work to get to all the brackets.

    you just have to have patience, theres alot of open ended wrench work. Not the kind of areas you can get a ratchet in, well maybe 1 or 2 bolts.  :working:

    I pulled the drivers side mount out without much problem.  I had to do this to get the Milodon oil pan off which is fully captured on a SB with TTI's.  :pullinghair:

    Browsing for this topic, I found what I was looking for - "a lot of patience"......thanks  ;D
    I dug under the car to inspect possibility for swapping engine mounts to new polylocs. It looks horrible to work here with headers installed to a 340.  :bricks1:

    I just did mine. I unbolted motor brackets then bottom bolt through crossmember. Jacked up front of motor and removed whole lot in 1 hit. Both mounts at once. Few scun knuckles and sore back and bam! Like already said,you just need patience. Oh and it help to have the front of car jacked up so you can get underneath. Good luck  :working:
