Do I want 7" or 8" rims for back?

Going to get Rally rims from Coker Tire. Have to be 15" to clear disc brakes. Only question I have is do I want 7's or 8's for the rears? How much tire can you get back their and do they require a 8" wide rim? I assume that 7's are the right way to go for the fronts.

Depends on how much tire you want to get in there. 7" front and 8" rear are a popular combo with work well with with 235 and 275 tires. On mine, I went 8" front and 10" rear with a 255, 295 tire set.

Does that fit with out any modification or rubbing though? Of course I would like to get as much rubber as possible

Mudder, the only mod on mine is the B body rear with 3/4" spring relocation. Prior to that I had 295s on an 8" rim with 4.75" backspace. Was snug against the spring, 4.5" would have been better, but that rim is a but narrow for that tire. 275 is a much better fit on an 8" rim and a much easier size tire to find.

Messy, sorry, I've plugged them in a  few seperate topics, but haven't consolidated them into the wheel/tire section at all.

There is one in here; http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=69240.msg710436#msg710436

I suppose I could get some close ups off the rear if anyone wants more detail. Personally, I think I could get 13.5 to 14" worth of tire in there with a little more work. Unfortuantly, the only way to get that much width in a 15" tire is to go with M/T bias plys or race rubber.
