does size really matter?

With an oil filter that is...
Looking at the stats below it seems that the only significant difference between both filters is the "maximum burst pressure".  Height should be no big deal if the space allows it.  So would a stubbier HEMI filter cause any harm if used on a 340 engine?

Basically, the difference between the two is filtration capacity. Higher burst pressure is a good thing when you use a high-volume or high-pressure oil pump. It's insurance. More filter equals more filtration medium, and better protection for the engine. The little filter from the 2.2 fits the same filter boss as the big filter.

Manufacturers use smaller filters because there is less oil to fill the filter therefore oil pressure more quickly.   :bigsmile:

The Moroso racing filter has good specs, for HV and HP pumps.#22470
