Correct me if I'm wrong...
« on: July 15, 2010 - 08:00:01 PM »
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the last year Mopar produced the LA block was in 2002 right?

On that note - if I go post 2002 (I assume magnum block) what flywheel would i need and will it mount to my 73 Chally 727 tranny?

Thanks! You guys are the best!

after 2002 all they had was the 4.7 & 5.7 Hemi , pre 2002 would be magnum back to back to 93 , any of the magnums will bolt up , not sure on the 5.7 to the LA belhousing

727 Trannies would use a flex plate not a flywheel, flywheels are for manuals, well, they are in Australia? :burnout: :aussie:

Did the Sprinter ever have a 5.2 in it?  I thought I remembered reading some dealer info on them years ago.  I thought they continued the 5.2 for another year or two and only put them in the Sprinters.  Maybe that was planned but never accually happened.

The 5.7 and 6.1 Hemis will bolt right up to the LA bellhousing. There is no need whatsoever for the 'adapter' that Bouchillon sells!

If running a manual trans, the Magnum engines are a different balance than the '71?-?? 360 enignes...In other words, running a 1974 360 flywheel on a 1997 360 Magnum will not work...Can run the stock Magnum flywheel with the stock Magnum engine as long as everything else bolts up, IE: Clutch etc..

I have an 03' Durango with the 5.9....was under the impression 2003 was the last year for the LA blocks.
 :dunno:

Also, the first year for the Magnum 318 was 92 (and the best year to have from what I was told)......I have one in my 92 Dakota. (LOVE that little truck!)
