What are u using a gasket for with all that silicone? seriously, a very thin film to hold the gasket in place is all u need. Or better yet, a coupla dabs of weatherstrip adhesive  will work wonderfully.  All IMO of course.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Well I guess thats what happens when I let others do it for me.....lesson learned.

I got the intake and heads cleaned up nice and I'm ready to install the new gaskets. I agree with Bullitt- that the ends do need some rtv, like what 72cudamaan said just a think coat to keep it in place and add a lil extra seal around the water jacket.

The only thing I'm not clear on is the heat block off plate. Which side of the gasket should I place it? My guess would be on the cylinder head side. It also appears to be a tad long. Should I trim it down or is it ok just to go keep it even with the bottom on the cylinder head?

BTW can anyone show me the torque sequence of the intake, my factory service manual only shows it for the Hemi.

I would put the block off in place as you have it in the picture
torque from the center out for the intake

Yep I started in the middle of the intake and worked my way outwards. Fired right up and no vacuum leaks. I fattened up the fuel mixture along with adding some wet wetter with the coolant and the engine didn't break 165F   :bananasmi

Now to pop the Carter AVS back on.

   I love it when a plan comes together!    And your pic of mounting the new gasket is awesome. Wish the first guy lined things up that nicely.
