In the early 80's an aquaintance called me and offered his '70, /6, auto on the column, bench seat Barracuda for $1000. I took him up on the deal and had to pick the car up on the shoulder of I-5 in Tacoma, WA. It was dark green w/ green interior and flawless stock down to the hubcaps and space saver spare. I towed it home, dropped the pan (rod knock) and replaced one rod bearing (as we used to do at 19). The car was on the road for years after that! My hot rods always seemed to break frequently, but I could always count on the Barracuda.
