Part throttle kickdown conversion for 727
« on: July 19, 2010 - 07:42:23 PM »
Hi,

If I have understand correctly the 71-> 727 transmissions are having a part throttle kickdown feature.

Is it possible to modify the older pre '71 valve bodies having that same nice feature?

I believe so. Let me do some "homework" on it and I will get back to you.

I did it - I have 68 VB and just bolted on the PTKD module I bought at ebay - this seller is reliable and has tons of parts for torqueflites (torqueflite_patty or something like that).
The tranny is not mounted in the car yet but this modification is easy and shouldnt give any problems.
