what to look for in a coil and plug wires?

cruisin summitt racing and was just wondering what to look for in a coil (primary resistance) and same with plug wires??

also looking at msd ignition boxes and wonder how these play a role in choosing a coil and plug wires

Biggest thing is a set of wires that will fit with your setup, either with or without headers.  I'd guess that the coil will have to be chosen after you decide either MSD or not.

solid core wires cause electronic interference , I use a good quality spiral core wire Such as Firecore , MSD or Blue Max

Boils down to personal choice as they are all about the same for reliability and performance. I chose Mallory distributor, Mallory Digital 6 box and high output Mallory coil and MSD 8mm wires. They work together great and no ballast resistor required. The Mallory digital box has an adjustable rev limiter standard on it. Then my son runs a MSD box, distributor and coil on his 440 and his car runs flawlessly.

Look for the name MSD on the wires, can't go wrong. They even have the same colors as some NOS mopar wires i've seen.  :wave:
