'70 440 oil leak
« on: April 12, 2002 - 06:33:34 AM »
It is dripping from the bell housing. The rear seal was replaced recently, so it can't be that.
If I drive it going hway speeds up hills I can see a little smoke coming from under the car, when the car levels off, the smoke stops? Could just be the angle that causes the oil to hit a hot area?
Any idea guys?

???

It could be a lot of things, I chased a small leak similar to that for a year 24 years ago it turned out to be a crack in the oil sender fitting at the rear of the engine that would drip into the bellhousing & spin offf the flywheel onto the exhaust  ::)
