440 Stroker Kits.Who makes the best one
« on: September 04, 2010 - 03:56:19 PM »
I posted about getting max power out of a 440 without stroking it, well the time has come and I will be buying a stroker kit in the coming weeks. Now my question may seem dumb to many of you but, what company makes the best stroker kits, and what is the best kit for my application? Ok I wanna run pumped gas, I dont wanna have external oiling system, and I want as much torque and hp as possible(nothing less than 500/500). If there is a kit from Mancini or 440source that you or maybe a friend have used that gave the results you looking let me know. Also the parts i have are a standard bore 440 block with 440source stealth heads. Thanks guys I appreciate your help.

I have not tried the Indy or Mancini strokers
I have built 20 engines or so from 440 source kits making a 512 " 440 block engine , using stud girdles , windage trays , H beam rods with stronger bolts & have made 630 GHP & 730 Gtq  & as high as 18 MPG

well it depends what heads you use but we were just over 10:1 comporession using Iron 915 heads
other than piston choice I went with a 512 " combo using flat top /dished pistons, H beam rods with bolt upgrade , Total Seal rings & Michigan 77 Brgs stud girdle kit , Melling HP oil pump , I ported the heads , used TTi 1 7/8" headers , Holley street dominator intake , Proform 950 race series carb , & a custom ground Lunati solid cam & Comp stainless rockers [I have been using PRW instead lately] & Smith bros pushrods

should last a long time , it has good rod ratio & good quality parts in it , I see no reason why it could not last 80,000 miles taken care of
