The passenger door will not lock period.  The drivers door will lock from the inside but not with the key.  Thanks, Danny

The clips are specific to each side, as are the locking rods. I don't see how one side would fit the other. Have you taken the door panel off to see if you even have a rod connecting to the outside keyhole?

:iagree:  First step is to take off the panels to see if the rods are even there? If they aren't, look around at the bottom of the door first.

The panels are off been doing a total resto, trying to finish up.  It has both rods but clips only on the bottom of the rods and they are both black.  I have new rod clips but they are two black and two white.  The guy that did the body and paint put my new door handles in after painting.  Should there be a rod clip  that connects the top of the rod to the door lock?  Since the new ones came in apack of four?  Also since they are 2 black and two white does that relate to left and right?  Also how to tell which rod goes on which side?  Thanks, Danny

Mine is a 70, don't know what year your working on or if it matters?  ....
On mine the rod that operates the handle to open the door has a white clip on it. The one from the lock to the striker mechanisim has a pink/red clip on it. There is a left and right. I know 70 only had a different bracket on the lock cylinders and when I replaced mine I had to transfer over those from the old ones.
Try looking at these posts for pictures/idea's?

Brad, how is the easiest way to get to these?  I have big hands and it is a tight fit.  Is it best to remove the outer door handles to replace these?  Thanks, Danny

When I was at Moparfest there was a vendor selling all sorts of small parts, bolts, rubber parts clips etc......
I told him what I needed and he got out a case and let me choose? So I just guessed  with what I bought. There is a left and right sides though.
I haven't tried to install them yet. The car is never out of my site or it locked up in the garage so I haven't worried about it yet....
I seem to remember hooking the top part in the installed door lock/handle , then put the clip on the other end of the rod ,then just push it in the hole till it clicks/locks in place.
