How much is too much?
« on: August 31, 2010 - 03:57:13 AM »
Threw a deal between my dad & I, I gave him my 68 Coronet to fix up my 71 Cuda. We've been looking for parts and even though I did get a bunch of great deals at the Nationals I have yet to find a "reasonable" grille. Is it just us two that thinks $3500-5000 for a grille that needs repaired or has been repaired (I use the term lightly as it would still need to be redone) is a little much? (I want to kick my self for waiting to long on a nice one for $800.) I sure could use some input from other owners of what is a "fair price.

That sounds extremely high to me. At that point it would be tons cheaper to convert to a 70 grille. Even buying brand new fenders, brand new grille etc. You'd only be into it about $2000-$2500.

I got lucky with my grille. I got 2 of them that were busted all to heck with my car. And I found a perfect one that I got off of ebay for $800. Found a couple others for $1000-$1500 but I think that is ridiculous price for them.

They need to start reproducing grilles for all years and not just 1970.
Cuda is gone :(

I do have an original grille ASSEMBLY hanging on my wall on display in the store. If your interested i can send you some pics. It has all the pieces there and intact, grille has been repaired before and could be straightened out for my liking. all the major pointes and bottom mounting tabs are there and NOT broken, 3500 is over priced unless its NOS

I saw nice ones at Carlisle going for between $1000-$1800  I didn't look to see just how nice they were or even if they were NOS? The price you got seems a little crazy!
