Exterior door handle questions
« on: September 11, 2010 - 10:06:52 AM »
I recently had to purchase a new door handle for my car, as mine only came with the one. I noticed that the one I have is chromed, and the other one I ordered kind of has a brushed finish to it, but it's black.

Just curious what you guys think I should do here. Have them both rechromed to match, or is there an option out there to leave them black without using crappy spray pain that will come off lol.

Which part of the handle are you refering to?  The edge or the part you lift.  The edge should be chrome.  If you have one that is a brushed look it is probably because someone hit it with a DA while sanding the car.  The lift part is brushed. Anything that is chrome can have the chrome removed and replaced with a powder coat in various colors.

Hmmm not sure about that. I don't remember on my car as it's in the shop I can't tell lol. And the pictures of the one I bought aren't that great. Guess I'll have to wait until I get it in, and then I can compare them.

to answer your question on the handle, look at a new handle

outer edge is to be chrome, face around key hole and pull handle are brushed, inside the cup is dark argent.

I only use that option on my ExWife.  If someone gets under your skin here you can just walk away from the computer.  It makes it nice.

Did you get the info you needed about the handles?

Yeah, people have informed me how they should look. I checked the stock one, and of course it looks just like it's supposed too. I'm waiting on the one I ordered to come in so that I can see how it looks.
