« on: September 13, 2010 - 11:28:39 AM »
I have a 1971 Cuda hardtop
with the year matching 340 3 Spd Manual

i have check alot of sites and all of the say there is 151 hardtops made and 8 Conv.
Im wondering is there any way to tell on which number of the 151 mine is. I have trying Walter P and got no response any other easy way ?

Also with as rare as that may sound does it up the vaule of the car or  because its not a 440 or 426 it doesnt matter ?

Don't know about numbers; I've got a 73, and they can't even agree on how many were made for the entire year.

As for value, it's almost certainly worth more with the original engine. You didn't spec the engine as original, original year, or not original, but I'm thinking that if it's the original year I'd either keep it in, or at least keep it so you could reinstall it later if you wanted.

As for how much that changes things with it being a 340 v. a big block, I dunno  :dunno:

I don't understand the question. :dunno:

All that means is that there were 151 built TOTAL.  They weren't built in sequence and numbered.  You car is just 1 of about 151 produced.

:iagree: I'm always jealous of the Shelby guys, who have a folder tracing the history of each individual car.
