I got smoked by a Hemi Cuda
« on: October 15, 2010 - 01:55:09 PM »
Well sort of………………..

I’m cruising down the road about 45mph, this mid 90’s Thunderbird pulls up beside me and starts revving his engine (I think so because it’s not doing anything but staying right beside me).  He then punches it, and about 2-3 seconds later starts to pull away.  I get a good laugh and give him the thumbs up.
Well he then slows down and as I caught up (I never changed my speed), rolls down his window,  and the following exchange takes place.

TB: I guess I smoked you pretty good.
Me: Yeah, you got 1 fast car there
TB: How much you wanna sell that car for?
Me: It’s not for sell
TB: Well if you did, $5000?
Me: Laughing, no it’s not for sell.
TB: If you did, more than $10,000
Me: Still laughing, yeah
TB: You’re crazy, a Hemi Cuda would smoke that
Me: Yeah, but there’s not too many of those around.
TB: Yeah, I got one………………… as he speeds off (if you could call it that).

'Ya know, it really is a sad day when the only previous driving experience for most of the youth of today is Video games that "claim" a "Hemi Cuda" is the "fastest car"..Or, because Vin Diesel said a 1970 Charger, with a Mopar Performance 440 in it and some stupid fake blower mounted on the hood, ran 9 seconds flat, this is the extent of their knowledge and or experience with Musclecars...My son goes to "Tech center" for what used to be called "Auto mechanics", and is clearly the sharpest knoife in the drawer..So much so that I told him once he becomes the official "Know-it-all" of the class, everybody is gonna hate on him...Sure nuff, when the Instructor ask's a question he has to form it in this way  "Ok class, everybody [but Chris] try and tell me what a Connecting Rod is"..The truly sad part is, he owns a 1966 Plymouth Belvy II complete with 440/4-speed/Dana 60 with 3.54:1 Sure Grip and the kids talk all this sh*t about their cars they can't even drive properly...
