Centerforce Duel Friction Clutch's
« on: October 15, 2010 - 10:20:08 PM »
Anyone have one in thier car? I'm needing to put a new clutch in my Dart this winter. I want a good clutch as i wanna do some racing with it next year but still be street friendly. I just wanna have some fun with it on the track and not wanting to be replaceing a new clutch after a few nights of racing. Its not gonna be a every weekend thing maybe once a month or so. I was told by a friend of mine that the duel friction centerforce was the way to go but its also pricey, not thats a problem but for around 400 bucks and not hold up is expensive  :faint: I really don't want to throw that much money away if theres something better or more resonable on my wallet.

I phoned centerforce when I had clutch issues with my 455 Buick. They laughed when I said yes" I tried a stock clutch" so they gave me a part number for a dual  friction set up . I have it still in the box( almost 2 years now! :grinno:) as I haven't had time to change it yet ( working on the Dodge)
My buddy swears by them . He has a pretty stout Vette with NOS and he shifts at 6 grand quite often and it holds just fine!

my experience with CForce is the opposite they are overpriced junk that might last 1 weekend drag racing , I have literally seen them distroyed in 3-4 passes at the strip
Call McLeod far better product & pricing IMO

Chryco i was hoping you would chime in  See thats what scares me. I called jegs for a price on one and its 350.00 bucks and another 40 for the throwout bearing. Thats alot of cash for something that won't work for me. What do you think would be a good choice for street and strip?

McLeod has been very helpful. They went out of their way for me. So far so good in the cuda. I had the three prong one.Now the diaphram? one is much easier on the foot. Got 3 yrs. on it at least. R/T

I use the Borg & Beck / Long design , lighter spring pressure & faster reaction , use a performance kevlar disc or if you want the real killer go with the B&B/L style Street Twin , it will hold 700 hp easy with light pedal pressure

I have been using a Mcleod B&B scallop 10.95. In the car for almost 3yrs now and do race it once in a while. Works great.
Putting the same set up in my buddies 340 Dart over the winter..
