Canadians sending money to the States

Just curious as to which ways any Canadian members are sending funds to any US members here on C.C. com. I am not talking about credit card purchases. When I buy someyhing it either costs a small fortune to send the money down south or it takes forever to get it down there.

Any easier ways that I am missing out on?

Personal cheques get held forever, Paypal, Western Union, Wire transfers are all expensive.

If it's a small amount ( under $50) I just risk it and send cash well wrapped in  cardboard. Other wise paypal?

 I've used both Canada Post money orders and Bank moner orders from the TD bank sometimes it works and sometimes they are rejected in the states saying we cant do anything with them.
 It sucks because we are always getting money orders at work from US customers along the Alaskan panhandle.(southeastern coastline) They are never refused by any of the four charterd banks.

I've always used Paypal. What fees are you referring to? I agree shipping is painful. Usually more than the part.

I find money order the best (economical), PP is ok but there is the 4%PP fee plus exchange fee.

I 'm just saying that if I by some parts from a C.C. Com member, you want to pay them asap.
U.S. banks will hold Canadian checks for weeks before the money is released. A bank to bank wire transfer was $50.
I checked Western Union and their fees are criminal.

All these fees add up if you make several purchases throughout the year.

Aside from sending cash through the mail I just wondered if there was another way.

I usually use paypal, but have also used international money orders from the bank and never had a problem.  I have heard that it's the postal money orders that can be a problem in the US.

When I was sending money over from Australia I did bank transfers but JP Morgan takes a cut on all money transfers into America (US$50) so just sent International Postal Check and it went into sellers account with no hold ups and min. fees. Won't use paypal.

Postal Money orders are about the cheapest , I have used Paypal too

I'd be willing to be a beta test sight here in the US for anyone wanting to try and send money.   

Seriously, Canadian postal money orders have worked fine for me and can be issued as American dollars. They work fine.

PayPal always has their hands in your pocket for fees as a seller. They charge you fees and then take their good old time making money on your money for about three or four days before you actually have it.

Do not remember the cost but I used something called a international money order purchased at the post office . Could not have been too bad or I'd still be crying .

Good question. 
I always use paypal, but then again, it doesnt cost me anything to buy the parts as it is the seller that has to pay. This is mostly for security reasons, and there is a bit of recourse (so I am told) if the parts dont turn up but so far I havent had to prove that theory.
Buying parts out of the States from lil' old New Zealand can sometimes be a bit risky as you may not always get what you pay for. 
Most vendors are happy to accept paypal, but if there is a better and cheaper way I would gladly do it.
For large sums of money I will do a Bank Telegraphic Transfer, but the extra bank fees Stateside are about $25 to $50usd, ($35 to $70nz dollars) depending on the bank, and it also cost $20nzd from the bank in New Zealand.
