What the heck! 727

When I drive normal I have no issues with my tranny. When I drop it in low and mash it the car flashes to 5,500 rpms instantly, shift to second and it won't shift till I let up a little on the gas. I'm letting up on the gas cause I'm afraid I'll blow it up.  Never seems to shift at the same point when I get on it in either 2nd or drive.  I have a Lokar kickdown cable, not sure on how to adjust it.  Is something out of adjustment or do I have issues with the torque converter or tranny?

It has a new valve body with less than 2,000 miles.  Not sure on the converter supposed to be 2300 -2600 with 4:10 gears.

Wow! That is alot going on there. I would make sure it is full of fluid (idling in neutral) if it is full, I think it needs to come apart and be looked at.
