Whats better a Detroit Locker, Eaton, Auburn
« on: October 13, 2010 - 11:59:13 PM »
I am going to replace the differential pig with a new one.  Trying to decide what brand and type of to get.  Have a 83/4 rear end. Going to put 3.91 gears in it.  I am understand one model of the Auburn will wear out and a different won't.  Also have read where some are louder than others.  Have read Richmond gears are louder.  Of course I am wanting something quiet but will hold up.  May run on the strip a couple times a year.  Mostly just crusing around town.  Are some smoother than others.  Other than reading their ads, I don't known anything about this.  Appreciate any advice.
