Different hoodhinges?
« on: October 29, 2010 - 03:31:41 AM »
Read in a restorationmanual that the shakerhood used different springs in the hoodhinges, does that mean
that I will have a problem installing my shakerhood with "standard" hoodhinges? :clueless:

The only hood that you would have problem with the standard hood springs are the T/A and AAR fiberglass hoods. I used normal hinges on my 70 cuda with a shaker hood with no problem. This is actually the first time I have heard that shakers used different springs.

Me neither heard of any difference and I think you guys know better of the credibility
of this book:

Paul Heard "Challenger & Barracuda restorationguide 1967-1974".

"All 1970 Challenger hoods used the same set of hinges as those used on the Barracudas, but those with the shaker hood used the low-tension springs".

I always reccommend that book for starting large bonfires.
