Is there any good way to bond fiberglass to sheet metal that doesn't involve using a lot of mud?

as long as the fiberglass part is fitted and sits flush,use Marine-Tex if you don't want to repair blisters or cracks later, make sure to prep and clean well both parts prior bonding
