oil pump gasket
« on: November 02, 2010 - 06:00:10 PM »
how important is that wafer thin gasket between the oil pump and block?  ive been told that my engine wouldnt have came with one but when you buy a new pump it comes with one.

i had to remove the pump to switch oil pickups and now i want to put it back together and have no gasket.

I would use a gasket , even a minor air leak would significantly drop oil pressure & airate the oil
