How much HP/ tork can I expect from this combo
« on: November 01, 2010 - 08:08:12 PM »
Hello all, I have a 1969 dodge coronet 440 engine .030 over with Trw flat top pistons stealth heads hooker/comp headers 2 1/2 in. Duel exhaust edelbrock torker single plain intake quick fuel 850-an carb msd dist with 6-al box. Comp cams 305H hydraulic with comp roller rockers. Tci street fighter trans with Tci 3500 stall converter 8 3/4 rear end with 4.56 gears. I'm runnin mickey tompsons outback 31 by 16.5 car is tubbed with 6 point cage and 20 gallon fuel cell. Just replaced the front susp with a kit from just suspensions and just finished with 4 wheel disk upgrade from summit racing. Engine has between 130 and 150 psi when I do comp test. Starts up with 80lbs oil pressure and settles at 60 when hot. I believe the lower end is still stock. What do you think I should see for hp and tork. Thanks

I'll guess around 525hp and 575tq.  Wild guess, good luck.

What did you think of your Stealth heads???

How far down are the pistons below the deck?  Did you do the comp. test hot or cold?

I didn't check how far down the piston was when I had the heads off but the comp tests were done when the engine was cold

Check it hot, then report back. Cranking compression is not a gauge of hp. I had consistent 150-155 across the board on my 383 and have around 400 hp. It's a shame you don't know the piston depth. We can only guess on yours as well 425/475. Has this car been down the track at all?

Nice build. I'd say in the area or 440-490 depending on the details of the build.
