Leaky trans help
« on: November 12, 2010 - 09:20:33 PM »
MY trans works great, but leaks from multiple spots....pan, tail shaft, speedo gear, maybe more.

Is it possibel to fix these leaks with out rebuilding the trans (does not seem to need it) and without removing the trans from the car (don't really have the room).

Thansk,

Absolutely , I had 5 spots leaking:

Neutral safety switch gasket rotted
selector shaft seal
speedo cable
pivot pin
pan gasket

You can fix them all in the car.

When I was chasing leaks I found that O'reilly has good selection/reference for seals

Speedo/pinion gear is easy.
My main leak turned out be the NSS ...don't forget the dipstick tube
