440 Rear Main Seal for in car replacement
« on: December 02, 2010 - 07:23:17 PM »
Anyone know the brand and part number for a rear main seal to use on a 440 when replacing the seal with the motor still in the car?  Mine is leaking and I'm about to remove the 727 transmission to install a Cope Racing manual valve body and a PTC torque converter and want to replace the rear main seal while I have the transmission out.

I have found that no matter how many times I replace the rear main seal, there seems to be at least a few drips on the ground at car shows from the rear main seal...I haven't figured out a way yet, and neither has the manufacturers to get a two piece rear main not to leak a few drips...Pouring out a quart for every 5 min. of idle time is another thing altogether though...Rpelacing seems to slow it down for me...
