70-74 E-Body Hotchkis rear sway bar. New in box!!
« on: November 12, 2010 - 02:45:00 PM »
I have an adjustable Hotchkis rear sway bar for sale. It will fit any 70-74 E-Body.

Part number 2254R

   http://www.hotchkis.net/rear_sport_sway_bar_set_7074_mopar_e_body.html

I didn't realize welding was required when I bought it, thus the sale here. I would like to get $250 for it, and I'll pay shipping to the lower 48 States here in the U.S.

As I keep saying lately, "Man, if I had the money..."  Good luck with the sale, though.

Since you aren't that far away, maybe we can work on monthly installments.

It's strange. You have to drill into the rear frame rails to install the brackets(I figured that much). Then you have to weld another plate to these brackets to hold the linkage.   :clueless: Seems like a stupid idea, like maybe these could have been welded before hand.   :1zhelp:

I guess I'm not helping myself with the sale here...    :grinno:

Two things occur to me:

1) They were trying to save money in production
2) The position of the linkage might vary slightly from car to car, so if it was welded in place beforehand it might have to be changed

Mek I think you need to re read the directions  :poopoke:

The second bracket goes on the housing

From your link
with minor frame drilling required in rear

I could be wrong wouldn't be the first time.

Mike, I have the same bar.... I thought it said to weld the one bracket to the other bracket, then weld that assembly to the frame rails? Nothing bolts to the frame as far as I can tell? Maybe a small screw to hold it to the rail when your welding it?
