How do you get the cable back into the speedometer?

70 Cuda/auto and the cable came out easy and now I cannot get the cable back in, it seems to go in about half way and stops.

There is a white tab on the outside you need to squeeze to put it on there. If you are already doing that, then maybe you need to rotate the cable a little to get it in there.

It goes in half way, but it is still about a 1/4" from being close enough to get the white tab in place.

Could the I have done anything to the cable, when I disconnected it?

The speedo cable may have come out at the bottom end, try rotating the inner cable with your fingers as you apply a bit of pressure, then wiggle the outer cable slightly while holding pressure when trying to fit onto speedo head.   :2thumbs:
