This has been bothering me for awhile.   :eek7:
The vendors are charging $40 for window cranks.  My local Auto Zone/O'Reilly/Advance/etc has Dormon brand for around $7 each.  I compared the Dormon's to the original and I can't tell a difference.  Anybody have a reasonable explanation why the big difference in price?  :clueless:

genaric vs specific reproductions. what you bought at auto zone is the universal handle that fits 73 ish upto like 1989. length has been the same but one year i think the knob was larger and i dont know what car it was. All of the E-bodies that i have parted out all had the same cranks.

The generic ones I see at the auto parts stores have the later large knob VS the smaller one on the "reproduction" piece.   They can be had for much less than $40/pr

The original question was for any car , one car , front cranks and rear cranks in the same car, not different year models. Soooo   if you look in your back seat area at those particular window cranks, they should match/look like the front window cranks.  For the period correct year models, they can vary in size and shape. :2thumbs:  so in your car, all 4 cranks should look identical being no difference

I think I have figured it out after taking look. The price difference might be because the rears have a different spacer between the handle and the door, its a little larger to bring it out, must have included thoses  :dunno:. Anyway I managed to find a place that was selling them for $9. each so with shipping all the way over to  :aussie: its cost me a grand total of $28. AUD for two delivered to my door. The only ones I could find here in Oz looked like the big knob ones [yuck] and they where $15 each and cost more to send! Pfft!  I really hope they dont start think of doing this "online tax"

That's interesting what you said about the spacers.  My back ones stick out from the panels and I couldn't see why, seems I need bigger spacers then.
